Beneficiaries

$150,000 is a lot for a little ride, but it's a small sum in the scheme of a global pandemic. We have carefully researched organizations that are meeting the changing needs of people living with HIV/AIDS and we have chosen beneficiaries where Ride FAR funds will go the furthest.

1/3 of your donation goes to:
Pediatric AIDS Call to Action Project Ride FAR has provided over $135,000 to help reduce mother-to-child transmission of HIV and expand care and treatment at model sites in South Africa and Zimbabwe. The success at these model sites has garnered government grants and additional funding. Ride FAR 11 funds are earmarked for sites in the Democratic Republic of Congo where private funding is most urgently needed.

1/3 of your donation goes to:
CHAMP (Community HIV/AIDS Mobilization Project) In the United States, 40,000 people are infected with HIV each year; one half are under the age of 25. CHAMP was founded in 2003 to accelerate the development of a broad and effective range of prevention options and to mobilize the next generation of the AIDS movement. Ride FAR will fund CHAMPs Prevention Justice Partnership Program, enabling groups across the country to collectively plan, build, launch and sustain winnable HIV prevention campaigns.

1/3 of your donation goes to:
25 Community-based HIV/AIDS Service Organizations One third of the money each rider raises stays local. Riders designate Ride FAR beneficiaries serving their own communities, often forming partnerships which last year round.

0/3 of your donation goes to:
Administration, Overhead, Advertising, Food, Lodging, etc. Thousands of individuals, businesses and communities contribute everything from brochure design and benefit concert performances to bananas, beds and bicycle parts, so that every dollar you give goes directly to the organizations described above.
